LIVING CLOSE TO WATER

Inspired by the new urban harbour projects of Scandinavian cities such as Århus and Esbjerg (Denmark), Malmö and Göteborg (Sweden) or Oslo (Norway), we wanted to develop a project with a distinctive architecture for a French city like Strasbourg. On the shores of the River Rhine, Strasbourg has a number of canals and basins that could be developed for residential and recreational use. 

 

These two series show that it is possible to connect housing directly to water. The neighbourhood is full of intimate spaces where children can play and parents can relax by swimming or lounging. They also offer access to the water for a boat, kayak or paddle board.
